Ride Like King

Giant Group, the parent company of Giant, Liv, Momentum, and CADEX, has teamed up with World Bicycle Relief and Zwift for its annual Ride Like King event. This year’s event carries profound new meaning following the passing of Giant Group founder King Liu (1934-2026).

After he spent decades building a leading global bicycle company, King wrote a new chapter in 2007 when, at age 73, he completed a 15-day, 927km ride around Taiwan. That ride was a revelation. It sparked a new interest in King’s own cycling lifestyle and the benefits it can have on health, fitness, and the environment.

The 18th annual Ride Like King reflects a commitment to carry forward King’s lifelong belief that cycling has the power to change the world for the better. We are inviting people from all around the world to support World Bicycle Relief by participating in virtual group rides on Zwift and in-person rides within their communities.

Every kilometer ridden during RLK18 counts toward a single, powerful goal: donating 927 Buffalo Bicycles to World Bicycle Relief in honor of King Liu’s 927km ride around Taiwan in 2007.

Help us reach our goal!

For every 500km ridden collectively across Zwift and outdoor rides, Giant Group will donate one Buffalo Bicycle to World Bicycle Relief until we reach 927. These purpose-built bikes are engineered for heavy loads, long distances, and rugged terrain. They are manufactured by Giant Group and assembled by World Bicycle Relief employees around the world, putting purpose-built bikes in the hands of students, healthcare workers, and entrepreneurs in rural communities where distance is a barrier to opportunity.

Join us for Ride Like King 18 and help change lives through the Power of Bicycles.

World Bicycle Relief, a global nonprofit committed to helping individuals overcome the barrier of distance, supports those in need with bicycles. Two wheels and a frame aren’t groundbreaking - but when placed in the hands of the right people, bicycles become vehicles of change that can uplift generations.

You can help World Bicycle Relief reach the goal of distributing 1 million bicycles to communities in need.
