Nearly one billion people in rural regions of the world lack access to reliable transportation, walking for miles each day just to survive. Distance is a barrier to attending school, receiving healthcare, delivering goods to market and other critical services needed to thrive.
World Bicycle Relief expands access to education, markets, healthcare and other essential services through bicycle mobility. Through our innovative ecosystem, we work with communities, local governments and scaling partners to design and implement mobility solutions that empower students, health workers, and entrepreneurs for the long run. By training mechanics and supplying spare parts through local Buffalo Bike Shops - the bicycles are supported and sustained by the communities in which they thrive.
