Mike & I returned from Africa about 2 weeks ago. It was an unforgettable trip. In total, we biked about 1700 miles. We saw all the things, met all the people, pedaled all the roads, and survived all the food. 100% I would recommend a trip to East Africa for anyone, though maybe not with the same transportation. If you do go, keep an eye out for these Buffalo Bicycles, though. They’re out there being used by the people!

Bicycles for Africa!

I have been bicycle touring in East Africa for one month and have one more month to go to complete my circuit of Lake Victoria. I’m traveling through Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, & Kenya. I have seen how much individuals rely on bicycles for transportation and how valuable a quality bicycle can be. Of course, I want to help more people gain access! Now that we’re in Tanzania, I have even seen many women riding bicycles, and this organization targets 70% of donations toward women. $165 buys a quality bicycle (a steel frame, puncture-resistant tires, a sturdy rack for cargo or passengers), so my goal is to raise enough for ten bikes.
