10 week count down!
Eeeekk! Can’t believe in 10 weeks I’ll be running in the Chicago marathon - no idea where the year has gone. Now to really make these weeks count and begin training properly. Thank you so so so much to everyone who has donated, I am eternally grateful and thankful!!!100 Days to go!
So excited that in 100 days I’ll be running the Chicago marathon and I’m super pleased that I’m over half way to my fundraising goal!2 weeks till London, 6 months till Chicago!
In two weeks I will be running London Marathon, and in six months I will be running Chicago Marathon!
These will be my fourth and fifth marathons in the last two years - safe to say I caught the marathon bug! But this time I am adding the extra challenge of fundraising alongside training and having a new goal of not just crossing the finish line, but also fundraising £1,750 for World Bicycle Relief.
World Bicycle Relief distribute bicycles to aid poverty relief. With a bike, distance is no longer a barrier to education, healthcare and economic opportunity.
The communities in which WBR work face a steep climb to recovery from the devastating effects of Covid-19. Existing gender disparities have only increased, leaving women and girls shouldering the greatest burden. With bicycles, women can work to close the gap and build back a stronger future, which is why WBR aim for 70% of participants receiving their bicycles to be female.
If you are able to donate to support the amazing work of World Bicycle Relief and help me reach my fundraising goal I will be forever grateful!
I am running Chicago Marathon for World Bicycle Relief!
I am so excited to be running Chicago Marathon in October 2023 for World Bicycle Relief!
Since 2005, World Bicycle Relief (WBR) was been committed to helping individuals in low-income regions around the world overcome the barrier of distance. In areas where transportation options are limited, a bicycle can be a life-changing tool. WBR builds and distributes specially-designed, locally assembled, rugged bicycles to help students attend classes, communities access healthcare and provide entrepreneurs and farmers the opportunity to improve their businesses.
Women, in particular, face significant cultural barriers to accessing education, healthcare and employment. That’s why World Bicycle Relief’s approach prioritises women and girls, aiming for 70% of participants receiving their bicycles to be female!
I believe in the Power of Bicycles and their ability to change the world. Please consider supporting my personal fundraising efforts to help mobilise individuals in rural developing countries. Just £120 helps put a brand new bike in the field and forever changes the trajectory of an individual's life.
Thank you for your support!
